After going through one of the hardest moments of her personal life, Lourdes Fernández returned to the stage and performed at the Gran Rex Theatre, where she was the chosen artist to open for the A*Teens. She took the opportunity to send a message of strength and resilience.
At the start of her performance, Lourdes appeared wrapped in a black tunic while, behind her, a man made theatrical gestures to the rhythm of the music. Seconds later, the garment fell away to reveal a stunning look: a white top and shorts with large angel wings, a symbol of rebirth.
During her act, she performed songs such as "Creo en mí" by Natalia Jiménez and classics from Bandana like "Guapas" and "Maldita Noche".
In the audience, she was accompanied by her father, Osmar, and her wife, whom Lourdes calls "mommy," who did not want to miss this special comeback.
Before saying goodbye, the artist took the microphone and, visibly moved, said: "I want to tell you something very important, it might sound cliché, but a stumble is not a fall." The audience responded with an ovation, aware of the deep meaning of those words after the days of anguish she had experienced.
Days before the concert, Buenos Aires justice rejected the request for parole for Leandro Esteban García Gómez, Lourdes's ex-partner, who remains detained and charged with gender-based violence, aggravated injuries, and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
Judge Diego Javier Slupski, in charge of the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 13, considered that there are procedural risks and a possibility of flight, as well as the danger that the accused might try to influence the victim or her circle.
Prosecutor Silvana Russi, head of Prosecution Office No. 43, had also opposed the parole, arguing that there was still a risk of obstructing the investigation and the accused's prior convictions aggravated his situation.
According to the file, García Gómez faces charges for gender-based violence-aggravated minor injuries and aggravated unlawful deprivation of liberty, both crimes committed within a relationship.
